Easy win for GAS at Hampton

Another easy win at the last of our Summer tournaments. This time at Hampton on dreadful pitches and no competition to speak of except a fast improving Halliford team who gave us our closest match.

Despite the conditions GAS were still able to outplay every team without breaking sweat or drawing a game. The two Brunswick teams were beaten 2-1 and 4-0, Sutton were, once again, played off the pitch, this time by five goals in 15 minutes and both Glenister and Halliford were beaten convincingly, albeit by narrower margins.

Groups

GAS 4 Belmont 1

GAS 1 Glenister 0

GAS 3 Halliford 2

GAS 2 Brunswick B 1

Semis

GAS 5 Sutton 0

Final

GAS 4 Brunswick A 0

A good all round performance from all the boys who raised their game in the knockout stages to play some exhibition standard football.

Player of the tournament: Jed

Jed played very intelligently throughout the game. He really made an real effort to be aware of all of the dangers and opportunities at all times,  Jed recovered well, passed well, tackled well and best all of made some really “well thought through” decisions - both defensively and offensively.
